Farmers Community Development Foundation International (FCDF)

GPP CEO Dr Batugal is President and Board Chair of the Farmers Community Development Foundation International (FCDF). FCDF has been actively helping to improve the lives of the poorest Filipinos through a large number of agricultural schemes since its inception in 1985.

GPP has partnered with FDCF to help indigenous peoples (IPs) in Southern Palawan improve their lives. The IPs were awarded large tracts of ancestral land by virtue of Republic Act 8371 otherwise known as the Indigenous Peoples Rights Act (IPRA) of 1997 granting Certificate of Ancestral Domain Title (CADT) to Indigenous People.

Southen Palawan enjoys annual rainfall of about 2500-3000 mm which is quite evenly distributed throughout the year except in the town of Aborlan which has a 2-3 months of dry season. The elevation ranges from 50-600 m above sea level with generally acidic, deep soils of flat to sloping terrain. Southern Palawan is typhoon free and generally has good peace and public order in terms of political stability.
